Kehena Beach is famous for frequent visits by Spinner Dolphins, occasional Sea Turtles, and seasonal Humpback Whales, all of which you can see with the naked eye.  Enjoy the sunny breezy days typical of this quaint beach community in the Southeastern Puna district on the largest of the Hawaiian Islands and be hypnotized by the lull of the ocean waves.  

Walk down the cliff trail to the exotic secluded beach in minutes, or enjoy viewing the drama of the coastline from the comfort of your expansive lanai (deck).  There are no signs, no facilities, no lifeguards at pristine Kehena Black Sand Beach which was formed from 1955 lava flow from the most active volcano in the world.  You are a guest of the closest coastal estate to this magical romantic refuge.

Kehena Beach is a 40 minute drive from Hilo International Airport.  Pick up exotic tropical fruits, organically grown vegetables, or fresh seafood at Hilo Farmer's Market on Hilo Bayfront on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

Fifteen minutes from the estate, you can stop at historic Pahoa Town on the way where you can savor the best of Thai, Mexican, or Italian cuisine or visit the Natural Foods store or many boutiques.

From Pahoa you may experience one of Hawaii's most scenic drives to the estate if you choose the longer route via Kapoha - Kalapana Road.  You will arrive at the unique Ahalanui geothermally heated pond when you are only 15 minutes from the estate.  Hawaii's #1 attraction, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is less than an hour's drive from the estate.  Helicopter tours to view the lava flow are available from Hilo Airport.
